Marlon Cooper is a Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified in Risk and Information Systems Controls and holds a B.Sc. in Accounting (Honours) from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. He has twenty (20) years’ experience in Internal and IT Auditing.
Marlon has overall responsibility for business direction and operations at Symptai Consulting Limited. He supports the thrust to implement systems that automatically and continuously monitor controls within business processes and provided high level oversight of the Information Security and Information Systems Audit advisory services.
Marlon has been involved in a wide range of projects ranging from project reviews, security and audit assessments, AML and other solutions implementations and application and process reviews. He has also worked with US-Based companies in their Sarbanes-Oxley testing. As a Certified ACL Instructor, he has trained over 500 audit and control professionals across the Caribbean region in data analysis, interrogation and audit techniques.
Prior to charting his career at Symptai, Marlon worked for the national airline, Air Jamaica Limited. He was responsible for reviewing and developing internal controls for adequacy and effectiveness, and for conducting audits at field offices, related companies and suppliers in the Caribbean, the United States and Europe.
Alicia Perez has over 15 years of experience in business assurance and IT audit. Mrs. Perez earned a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of the West Indies, a designation for ISACA’s Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and is Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT).
At Symptai, Alicia oversees the delivery of the advisory services. She is responsible for transformation maturity, audit portfolio, and the augmentation of clients’ data governance, and quality role. She provides services for general advisory projects which includes IT general control reviews, IT solution selections, risk management, and network vulnerability and penetration testing. She has the combination of being an astute student of technology and an avid learner of business drivers, she is key in deriving value from business investment and excellent and advising on leveraging technology for profit. Alicia’s work experience has positioned her in every industry and at varying organisational levels, she understands operational challenges and solve business and technology problems with well researched and practically applicable solutions. Alicia is eager to develop others who are interested in IT Audit and enables her team of consultants to grow in this discipline. She continues to create innovative tools and methodologies that gives support to clients.
Prior to working at Symptai, Alicia also worked within JMI as a Developer, where she built a web application that would transfer information automatically and collated to the head office for tracking purposes.
Alicia is also a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
Andrew Nooks has over 27 years of experience in the information and communication technology industry, with the last 15 years focused on information security assurance and advisory and more recently data privacy.
Andrew earned a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of the West Indies and certifications from industry leading organizations such as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) and British Standards Institution (BSI). He is a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Information System Security Professional (CISSP-ISSAP), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP), Payment Card Industry – Qualified Security Assessor (PCI-QSA), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), IT Service Management (ITSM), ISO27001 Lead Auditor, Certified Information Privacy Professional/ Europe (CIPP/E), and Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE). Also, Mr. Nooks has training in Ethical Hackings, Mobile Device Hacking, and Digital Forensics.
Andrew is a Director at Symptai, and a leader in information security assurance and advisory services. He is responsible for efficiency, growth, innovation, and disruption. He also provides services related to application security assessments, network penetration tests and vulnerability assessments, security awareness training and assessments, IT governance review and implementation, security incident response and digital forensics, IT solution research and selection, IS staff recruitment and information privacy governance. He is an experienced speaker and thought leader in information security, information privacy, and related domains.
Andrew is a member of the Board of Directors at eGOV Jamaica Limited and McKayla Financial Services. He is also an Adjunct lecturer at the University of Technology and a mentor to young professionals.
Korah-Jane Jude has over 15 years of experience in business growth strategy, consultative sales, operational execution, and project coordination. Ms. Jude earned an M.Sc. in Human Resource Development from the University of the West Indies and a B.Sc. in Computing and Information Technology from the University of Technology. She has received professional training and coaching in the areas of Media and Communications. Sales Management, conscious leadership and coaching.
Since joining Sympati in 2014, Ms. Jude continues to develop, manage, and maintain an engine for revenue growth through portfolio and corporate brand equity development and regional expansion. She is responsible for building the supporting structures to deliver on company objectives, define and implement adequate resource capacities, and deliver on company objectives in order to facilitate consistent incremental company growth. Ms. Jude leads a sales team to achieve quotas, manage key client and partner relationships, and develop and execute a new digital marketing strategy.
Ms. Jude is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
Alka Jain has over 20 years of experience in Information Technology, Accounting and Management across varied sectors including government, financial, utilities, retail and distribution. Mrs. Jain earned an M.Sc. in Computer based Management Information Systems from the University of the West Indies, and an M.Sc. in Operational Research from University of Delhi, India. She is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Oracle Certified Professional in Financial Applications (OCP), Certified Accountant (FCCA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), IT Services Management Foundation v3 (ITIL), and Scrum Master Certified (SMC).
At Symptai, Alka has oversight over consulting services in the areas of Business Assurance and Advisory. She continues to streamline our consulting approaches, methodologies to enterprise risk and control assessments, and delivering of continuous monitoring solutions to clients throughout the region. Alka is also responsible for providing implementation, support, and training services for Oracle Financials, Alessa, SAP Business One and Microsoft Dynamics Navision. Her accounting background coupled with her IT knowledge has enhanced her ability to interact with business users and technical persons effectively.
Alka brings extensive project management skills and experience that has enhanced the overall value of projects delivered by Symptai Consulting Limited.
She is also a member of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA), Project Management Institute (PMI USA), Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Andre Palmer has over 12 years of experience working on large-scale business transformation initiatives in Europe, North America and Jamaica. Andre has developed specialized skills in organizational development, strategic planning, consultative sales, change management, cost optimization and process design. He earned a joint B.Sc. in International Relations and Social Psychology from the University of the West Indies and The London Metropolitan University and completed post-graduate studies in International Law and Organisational Psychology from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He also earned professional accreditations in PRINCE2 (Project Management), MSP (Managing Successful Programs), MoR (Management of Risk), NLP (Neuro-Linguistics Programming), Change Management, ITIL and the Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certificate.
At Symptai, Andre is the Regional Business Development Executive where he is responsible for building strategic relationships with organizations across the Caribbean and aligning solutions to tackle some of their most complex business challenges.
Prior to joining Symptai, Andre spent six years working as a Senior Account Director at Gartner where he was responsible for leading the group's big data strategy portfolio in the UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Spain and Portugal. He later moved to the global headquarters in the U.S. to manage the Media and Advertising client portfolio in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut before returning to Jamaica. Prior to Gartner, he managed the Business Development and Account Management teams at Redtray in the United Kingdom where he was responsible for generating revenue for the Project, Program & Portfolio Management (P3O) areas of the practice as well as for the Office of Government Commerce’s (OGC) accredited Risk and Change Management qualifications.
Andre is a member of the Jamaica Computer Society, One Young World Alumni, a Non-executive Director of European Gateway, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jamaican Association of Debating and Empowerment.
Over the past nine (9) years Rory has immersed himself in the world of Information Security and Audit.
Rory Ebanks is a Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA), Certified Network Defender (CND), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Cyber Security Nexus (CSX), holds a Master of Science in Cyber Security from EC Council University and a B.Sc. in Computing Information Technology from the University of Technology.
Rory is a special member of the Item Writers Group for the renowned certifications Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) Certified Network Defender (CND). He have been serving the ISACA Kingston chapter since 2017 as Certification Director where he has facilitated a CISA Workshop/Study Session and have made numerous presentations on the importance of Certifications to the University of Technology scholars.
His experience is diverse and has taken him into several industries including finance, telecommunication, government agencies, retail and distribution, utilities and manufacturing, both locally and overseas. The mission is always to bring the kind of value that minimizes vulnerabilities within the business and ensures a militant security posture.
He has consulted in the areas of IT General Controls; Business Process Reviews; Automated Controls Reviews; Business Continuity Planning; Data Analytics Support and Training; Incident response and digital forensics investigations; Network, Web Application Vulnerability and Penetration Testing and Security controls assessment surrounding critical business systems, including operating, database systems and applications.
Rory possess excellent time management and adaptation skills, he is very organized, hardworking and takes responsibility for his assignments. Rory joined Symptai Consulting in 2012 and is the Director of Information Security Advisory in our Audit Security Division.
Michael Philibert has over 13 years of experience in the accounting, financial analysis and reporting, operational analysis, tax and compliance. He earned an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
At Symptai, Mr. Philibert responsible for internal financials, tax preparation, annual audits, financial reporting, client billing and administration, and compliance. He prepares management reports, annual forecast, and budget.
Prior to working at Symptai, Michael Philibert worked at BDO as an Auditor where he audited financial statements from manufacturing and financial companies. Preceding his time at BDO, he worked at RBTT (now RBC) as a Bank Teller where he was responsible for processing transactions, producing financial reports, and liaising with clients.
He is also the VP of Finance at Jamaica Computer Society, and a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and the Oberlin Old Boys Association.
